Datacenter Engineer

About You

You’re a tech enthusiast who loves taking charge when it comes to storage and backups. You enjoy designing and optimizing systems and take pride in keeping data safe and available.

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience as a Datacenter Engineer, specializing in storage and backup solutions
• Strong knowledge of SAN, NAS, and object storage systems
• Experience with backup methods like disk-based, tape, and cloud-based backups
• Familiar with backup software such as Veeam, Varonis, or Cohesity
• Understanding of data deduplication, replication, and encryption
• Knowledge of storage protocols and standards (iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, SMB/CIFS)
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution
• Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and monitoring is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with clients and internal teams
• Relevant certifications (EMC Proven Professional, Veeam Certified Engineer) are a plus
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a bonus

What You’ll Do

As a Datacenter Engineer at deze organisatie, you’ll be the go-to person for storage and backup solutions. You’ll ensure our clients’ data is secure, reliable, and ready when they need it.

Your tasks:

• Design and implement scalable, reliable storage architectures (SAN, NAS, object storage)
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies, focusing on data integrity and compliance
• Configure and optimize backup software and hardware, including disk and cloud solutions
• Monitor storage systems and backups to catch performance issues, capacity limits, and risks early
• Conduct regular backup tests and maintain documentation
• Plan and execute smooth data migrations with minimal downtime
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot storage and backup issues
• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures, and create technical reports as needed
